Human After All, giovedì 23 luglio, ore 20:15, Impact Hub Trento. Di persona o in streaming. A seguire speck e birrette, come da tradizione.

When coding stops being the slow part, some long-held engineering norms are worth a second look.

I cannot agree more.
I've been working with this approach with my teams since late last year and can confirm that we need to systematically challenge the industry best practices, see what is still valid, what should be dropped, what should emerge.
Rapid idea validation with prototypes is not something new, it's the gist of 2011 The Lean Startup and further literature.
What changed radically is what rapid means. We are talking about hours to get feedback, not weeks.

I've been using Cursor and Claude alternatively and as companions for a year. I saw them as substitutes and almost as compoetitors.
I'm part of both communities, and spoke of both just two days ago at Cursor Community meetup with a small sense of guilt.
This joint video is making think we're all OK with that. No guilt needed.
I feel grateful for the tools and for the oportunities unlocked by models and products.

"Artificial intelligence is fundamentally transforming how organizations operate, but this transformation extends far beyond technical implementation."

E ancora:
"Although AI-enabled transformation clearly has enormous human and organizational implications, HR leaders have, for the most part, not stepped up to deal with such changes either."

Do you know what #OKR stands for? You should, as implementing it can revolutionize the way your company and employees make steady #improvements.

In the early '70s, Andy Grove - Intel's third employee and a once-destitute Hungarian refugee - was living the American dream. He evolved the concept of #MBO (Manage By Objectives) to the next level, implementing company-wide what are now known as OKRs (Objectives and Key Results). Intel was experiencing rapid #growth and success, having just designed and begun manufacturing the first DRAM chip, which would spur another big revolution in what was becoming Silicon Valley. Grove would eventually become Intel's president and #COO, running the company for most of the following two decades. While many people know of Intel's co-founders, Moore and Noyce, Grove's legacy is arguably even stronger, as he helped transition the company from the DRAM business to the CPU one in the early '80s when competition from the east was untenable. Today, the OKR #management tool is still widely adopted by many companies, from small startups to tech giants like Google. By providing a clear framework for setting and achieving #objectives, OKRs can help increase #productivity, #alignment, and #focus within organizations.

Interested in learning how implementing Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) can benefit your company? Check out "Measure What Matters" by John Doerr.

Are you currently using OKRs in your company or are you still utilizing traditional Management by Objectives (MBOs) or have no formal progress plan in place? Let me know in the comments below.

Did you know that the idea of #purpose for a company is not a new concept (how naïve of me)? In fact, it's been around for decades! I just started reading a bestseller from 1994, 'Built to Last' by Collins and Porras, and was pleased to find that the concept of #purpose was crystal clear in the very first pages (I suspect the concept will be expanded through the book, I’ll keep you posted).

The importance of having a clear and well-defined purpose for a company, something that goes beyond just making money. A purpose-driven company has a reason for being, a #mission that #inspires and #motivates its employees, and a set of #values that guide its decisions and actions.

As we navigate through these challenging times, it's more important than ever for companies to have a clear sense of purpose. When employees understand the #why behind their work, they are more engaged, committed, and productive. And when customers align with a company's purpose, they are more likely to become loyal #advocates.

So let's take a page out of 'Built to Last' and remember the importance of purpose in building a #successful and #sustainable company.

Do you know which is your company’s #purpose?

#entrepreneurs and #executives out there: have you set it and is it deeply rooted?

Over the past year, my intellectual life has undergone a radical transformation.
I had contemplated pursuing an #MBA in early 2022 and shared my thoughts with a select group of friends. However, during that same period, an opportunity for a #career change surfaced and I spent several weeks exploring that path. Ultimately, I decided to commit to the #Executive #MBA offered by POLIMI Graduate School of Management (formerly known as MIP Politecnico di Milano). As of now, it has been exactly one year since I started attending classes, immersing myself in advanced and formal education after a hiatus of over 15 years. What an incredible journey it has been!

Here are some statistics that I would like to share with you:

I have taken 15 exams so far.

I have attended 74 live lessons.

I have read 21 MBA-related/suggested books.

I have watched and summarized 559 video clips.

On average, I have spent 17.5 hours per week studying.

The course I studied the most was Strategy with 102 hours.

During the top week I studied 38.5 hours.

My average grade is XY.X/30.

I've been in Milan 4 times.

But most importantly I have formed lifelong bonds with 36 amazing classmates.

Do I enjoy it? Absolutely.
Am I fatigued? Certainly.
Would I do it again? Without hesitation.

#opportunity #management

If you have any question or curiosity comments are open.

Climate change is here, and we all share responsibility to demand and take action.

Yesterday morning I was going to the dentist, but I was happy because it was finally pouring #rain. Until two years ago, it would have seemed like an irrational emotion to me. But today, rain has become a sign of hope in Italy, which is struggling against an extremely severe #drought.

#climatechange change is here to stay and unfortunately worsen. Agriculture, industry and the daily life of citizens will be severely affected by the lack of rain and increasingly high temperatures, even during the next summer. The recent report from Il Sole 24 Ore on the pitiful state of Italy's water reservoirs is just one of the many privileged observation points on this crisis.

The situation is so serious that it endangers the #food security of our country.
The extremely severe drought in Italy is just one of the many signs of climate change.

We are all responsible for doing our part to protect our planet. How can we make a difference? We can start with daily actions such as reducing our energy consumption and reducing food waste, prioritizing remote work, walking or cycling. But we must also demand concrete actions from our governments and large companies. We must demand policies and investments for #renewableenergy , the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and the protection of #water resources.

Let's make a personal commitment by requesting concrete #environmental #sustainability policies from our company, not just focusing on economic one. If we possess the necessary skills, we should consider pursuing #careers that contribute to the reduction of emissions along the entire #supplychain, work towards preserving existing resources, and enhancing resilience in the face of extreme events. If changing industries is a challenge, POLIMI Graduate School of Management can offer assistance as sustainability is deeply ingrained in its teaching programs. Dean Federico Frattini is an excellent advocate in this regard.

Climate change is not just a problem for future generations, it concerns our generation too.

Eleonora Cogo and Lavinia Laiti do you have any deeper suggestion?

If you're an entrepreneur or designer looking to create products and services that truly resonate with your customers, then you need to check out the book Value Proposition Design. While there are many concepts and ideas out there when it comes to designing products and services, this book takes them to the next level by providing an ordered process that makes sense.

The Value Proposition Canvas, which is the foundation of the book, helps you identify the key components that make up a successful value proposition. The Customer Profile helps you understand who your customers are, what they need, what they're struggling with, and how your product or service can solve their problems. The Value Map then helps you design your solution in a way that perfectly meets the needs of your customers.

What's so great about this book is that it takes all of these different components and ideas and puts them together in a way that's easy to understand and follow. It provides a clear process that you can use to design products and services that are truly valuable to your customers.

So, have you read this book yet? If not, it's definitely worth checking out. And if you have, I'd love to hear about your experiences and how it's helped you in your work. Leave a comment below and let's chat!

Contrails create clouds that trap heat in the atmosphere at the critical altitude where airliners fly.

One of the actions I've taken, after becoming much more deliberate on my choices contributing to climate change, is avoiding flights. Turns out the issue is not only in the huge amount of CO₂ emitted but also in the water vapor contrails at 10.000m trapping heat.
